TrustMark remediation: eight weeks, no extensions, and a video to close it.
TrustMark tightened remediation on ECO4 and GBIS work in 2026. Here's what changed, and what has to be ready when a non-compliance lands.
What changed in 2026
- Eight weeks, from the day you're told. The remediation period for ECO4 and GBIS is eight weeks, running from when the registered business or retrofit coordinator is notified of the non-compliance.
- No extensions. TrustMark no longer accepts extension requests for ECO4 and GBIS measures inspected on or after 1 June 2026.
- A video to close it. For audits completed after 13 July 2026 that find open non-compliance, a video walkaround of the finished remedial work has to be uploaded to TrustMark's remediation page.
- Evidence for each one. Every open non-compliance needs its own evidence, about that concern only.
- Final dates. TrustMark lists final determination for GBIS on 30 November 2026, and for ECO4 on 30 June 2027.
Where the eight weeks go
The return visit is rarely the slow part. Most of the time goes on finding things out: which photos exist, which crew was there, whether the certificate on file is even for this house, and who has the paperwork. With no extensions, a home whose evidence is scattered across phones, inboxes and spreadsheets starts the eight weeks already behind.
What to have ready
- Every photo, form and certificate on the home it belongs to, dated, with who took it.
- A record of which crew did which measure, and when.
- Documents checked against the right address, so a certificate for number 41 isn't sitting on number 14.
- A way to book the return visit and capture the video and remedial photos on the same record.
How Trident helps
Trident keeps each home's evidence on the home, from the first survey to close-out. A home doesn't close while a return its contract asks for is still out. A certificate that names a different address is held, not counted. Photos are taken in the app's own camera, stamped with the time, the place and the question they answer. And every change records who made it and when, so when the audit letter lands, the answers are already on the record.
